Almost all at once, a few BIG things happened at Squidoo.

Squidoo itself took an award at SXSW! Wonderful work by a tiny and overworked staff!

Payday occurred at Squidoo, which marked a new record of payouts to lensmasters and charities.

We reached the 100,000 lens mark, the approach tightly N376 who managed to publish exactly #100,000 thanks to his vigilance and the time difference down under.

And finally, Seth began his Official Squidoo Lens of the Year Award Plexo to allow everyone to choose their favorite Lens of the Day winner as the Best this Year.

If anyone has understood the true purpose of a blog, it is Giddy Gabby at her 'Amuse Bouche' blog Giddy Gabby's Random Facts and Daily Tips. Blogs are best done honestly, exposing our hearts, souls and interests. Abusive in-your-face marketing is not for a blog!

For those of us who could use a friend, Giddy Gabby is just the one to remind us, in the midst of a difficult world, of our humanity, of how interesting life really is, what real friendship is, and she gives us a human 'recess' from a stress-filled, workaday life.

So wonderful to read and to speak with Giddy. I spoke with her about her work here and on Squidoo.

Margaret, I have so much fun with this blog. I use it in the true sense of a blog--to keep track of links, videos, articles, anything that amuses, stimulates, charms, or touches my heart. I go back and view them over and over, and they never fail to amaze me as much as the first time I found them. And yes, I take my own advice. All of the tips come from experience--mine or somethin' someone taught me somewhere along the way that became mine too. It's wonderful how rich the world is with people sharing their particular talents and accomplishments. The WWW gives us access to the great talent lurking in every "ordinary" person.

We raised our consciousness, transacted our analyses, identified our dysfunctions, and co-opted our co-dependencies. We jogged for health and beauty, sculpted hard bodies, danced with Richard Simmons, boxed Tai-bo, and ran marathons.

We traded flower power for power suits, power lunches and power sleep. We dressed for success and played as hard as we worked.

Now, we keep our bodies limber with Yoga, our minds at peace with Zen, and our fingers on the pulse of the next generation. We're plugged in to cell phones, I-Tunes, Blackberries, Bluetooth, and we catch the game on handheld TVs.

We're the hippest, coolest, hottest, youngest grandparents the planet has ever seen. We're turned on, tuned in, and droppin' in everywhere. We e-vite, e-trade, e-mail, e-bay, and now we Squidoo.
Boomers Rock! Group Headquarters

A resource and lens-promotion site for Squidooers writing about and for the Baby Boomers (born 1946-1964). We're still small, but there are some terrific lensmasters and lenses in the group, including you, Margaret!

Did you know the first sonic boom occurred almost at the same time we burst into the world? Yup. When some of us were less than a year old, folks on the ground heard and felt Chuck Yeager break the sound barrier for the first time. That was 1947. Chuck may have started that boom, but we've been breakin' all kinds of barriers ever since. Squidoo helps us knock 'em down, too, and every time one of us adds a lens about something we care passionately about, we bust a hole in another one or build a bridge.

Collection of Companion Websites & Lenses

Squidoo is a phenomenal way for any website to draw traffic to their websites and blogs. As a website owner, and group master: The Mall on Squidoo, The Amish Village, and several others, I have been privileged to see great websites and blogs, from great webmasters, who have created companion lenses on Squidoo.

Even though we all love how this works, I noticed that it is very difficult to find those websites and blogs in an easy, convenient way!

I have created a Squidoo lens, a Squidoo group, and now this blog, for just that purpose.

It is very easy for the larger, established websites to get recognition from Google and everyone else. It is much harder for the new sites, starting up, to get noticed, get traffic, get reviewed.

I hope to help all of you in this way!
